Factors Associated with the Cardiorrespiratory Fitness of Schoolers from Balneário Camboriú/SC – Pilot Study
Abstract
Objective:
To verify the factors associated with cardiorespiratory skills of students from Balneário Camboriú.
Method:
The selection of the sample was carried out for convenience and the study 519 classes from 6 to 16 years old at the Centro Educacional Municipal de Balneário Camboriú. A questionnaire was applied that contained the sociodemographic characteristics and the Luc Léger cardiorespiratory use test. To compare how variables used in the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis U test with Dunn’s POST HOC. To check how proportions and applications the Chi-square test was used.
Results:
There were significant differences in cardiorespiratory capacity between the sexes (p = 0.03), socioeconomic level (p = 0.04) and age group (0.01). As for the association of association with a cardiorespiratory variable, verified if schoolchildren aged 13 to 16 years, both sexes (<0.01), as well as female students from higher classes, have a greater tendency to not meet the recommended requirements. of health.
Conclusion:
These findings showed that cardiorespiratory fitness decreased among older students, especially among female students.
