Abstract The aging process brings numerous physiological changes, and in patients with heart failure (HF), rehabilitation is essential to improve health and quality of life. Considering the preventive and treatment stages and aspects of the elderly who participate in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs, this article seeks to bring the main methodological recommendations for the assessment and prescription of physical activity. It also summarizes the benefits and summarizes the main guidelines and general recommendations for cardiac rehabilitation.
