Abstract

The changes presented in the recovery phase of the exercise testing have the same importance as those that occurred during the effort. However, there is no consensus on the ideal protocol to be adopted at this stage. Active or passive recovery have different cut-off points of hemodynamic values and incidence of alterations, as well as changes in relation to the position in orthostasis or supine, caused by neuroendocrine, physiologic or hemodynamic factors. This article aims to explore the physiopathological bases of the alterations brought about by the different recovery protocols in the exercise testing.
